Hello, I'm a recent LJ migrant and I'm using the Tabula Rasa layout by
girlrock located here.
I would like to add or change some of the main navigation links to include an about post and a link to my website or another journal, but I can't figure out how to do it?

I would like to add or change some of the main navigation links to include an about post and a link to my website or another journal, but I can't figure out how to do it?
I can see that she has manipulated the main navigation links in her own journal navigation (the about, fics, and code pages) and from what I can see, she doesn't have a paid account?
I've read other tagged entries saying you can do it via S2, but only with a paid account? And I also don't even know where to go to edit the code for S2.
I could conceivably try to style the link list module in a similar format, but I wouldn't know how to go about doing that right now since I'm not familiar with dreamwidth coding as of yet.
Any ideas on how I can add my own links to the main navigation? Or change some of the ones I'm not using? Thank you for your help!

EDIT: She was kind enough to tell me how she did it here. It involved creating a new theme layer for Tabula Rasa which I was able to do with my free account easily following her instructions.

2) If you mean the pages those links go to:
a) The "about" and "fics" pages go to entries she's made in her journal, so you can easily recreate that by making your own entry in your journal and linking to it in the Links List as edited above.
b) The "code" page is a link to a tag she used in her journal, also easily recreated by tagging your entries and then linking to that tag.
If I'm misunderstanding, let me know and I'll try to help further. But it appears that what you want can be easily done with the Customize Style option; you shouldn't have to mess about with S2.

Date: 2023-08-10 09:01 am (UTC)You do need a paid account to create a new layout layer, which is the easiest way to override S2 functions, but you can also achieve mods through css and that must be what she's done since her account is free. On desktop you can use the inspect element function in chrome or firefox and point at the bit of the screen you want to examine, so you might be able to figure it out that way yourself too.
