Targeting .separator-before with :first-child?

Is there any way I can target the first .separator-before on a page of entries if I'm using For The Bold? I can't seem to nail it using .first-child but I might not be using the right code.

Yeah, I kinda figured that eventually looking at the definition of :first-child combined with the fact that it wouldn't work with the separator but would work just fine with .module-navlinks li... I've used :first-child fairly often but apparently never tried to do it in this kind of situation until now so I think I had a misconception on how it worked.
