A couple of userpic-related questions

Hello. I'm a fairly new LJ-to-DW migrant who knows nothing about CSS, and would like to tweak some little things. Some entries I found via the tags were extremely helpful to me (thank you!), but there are a couple of other adjustments I'd still like to make if possible.

I'm using the Ciel layout. (FWIW, no paid account yet, but that is imminent.) My questions are:

1. Is there a way to wrap the text around the userpic in my entries, instead of just having a long strip of empty space under the pics? (Problem resolved--thanks for the help!)

2. Is it possible to make userpics NOT appear on any comments? (Basically, what I'd like is to see only my own icons on my own recent entries page.) I've been able to remove userpics from my reading page, but not from comments. Currently I just have them shrunk to their smallest size via DW's options. (Thanks also for the answers to this!)

I'm afraid that code had no effect on what I'm seeing.

After looking at my journal in Safari, it does seem to be a browser issue. I generally use IE, but at some point I apparently (somehow) got IE9 set up to mimic IE7, because I had problems with 9. As a result, both LJ and DW's systems want to identify my browser as IE7, which has caused several annoying display problems.

Oooh, yeah :|a IE7 is out of our supported browser range, so unfortunately I can't guarantee a fix. That behaviour is just downright odd, though, so I'll poke into it further and see what I find.

After a quick search on the subject, I appear to have just resolved the problem! Apparently both DW and LJ were on the "Compatibility View" list in my IE settings (though I do *not* remember ever adding them, or even doing anything with the compatibility settings at all). I gather this has been making those particular sites behave as they would in IE7. I removed DW from the list, and lo and behold, my journal is now displaying properly--text wrapping and all.

And now I know for future people using IE7 with problems *g*
