Hey guys. On my journal right now I'm trying to change the color of the bar around the "top of the page" footer link - for some reason I can't get it off of the pale blue it's on now and (preferably) change it to a gray that matches the other navigation stuff.

Also, the other navigation links (recent entries, archive, reading, etc) are all left-aligned on their bar, and I can't figure out how to get them to center instead.

I'm using a tweaked version of this code, if that makes anything clearer. Thanks in advance for your help!

This worked for me:

#footer {
background-color: #e3e3e3 !important;
background-image:url(http://spoonybard.org/dwidth/central/lighttitle.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
opacity: 0.7;
}

.module-navlinks {
text-align: center;
}

Yeah, I don't get this on my computer (Windows 7, FF 10.0.2/IE9 or Chrome 17.0.9 something). I get the gray color. Weird.

Well, this isn't an answer, but—

I have that same problem too. Both on a fully updated Chrome and Firefox.

Uhm! I would say reassuring. In a at least it's not just you sort of thing. So, I thought about this because it really is ugly, and I fiddled with my own coding a bit. I made this work for myself and I think the problem might lie in the fact that DW is still fairly finicky with code at times. So! Let me see if I can't help.

Firstly remove:
#footer {
background-color: #e3e3e3 !important;
}

Once that's gone, ctrl+f for #footer. Once you're got that, delete that section and replace it with:

#footer {
width: 1000px;
margin: 0 auto;
text-align: right;
display: block;
padding: .8em;
background: #e3e3e3 !important;
}

My issue was that I had two "background: INSERTCOLOUR"s, so once I took off one, it bothered to show a colour.

Boo. I'll try to copy your layout somewhere and see if I can't do anything about it.

Although, quietly, I wonder if it has anything to do with the site scheme. Since I see this footer colour on even the normal DW layouts.

No problem! I'm happy to help since it's helping me adjust to DW as opposed to LJ.

Good luck with that! ♥

DON'T LISTEN TO ME ABOUT THE SCHEME THING. my lies will sell you up the river. I just checked and I'm wrong.

Quick question, do you use scripts? Such as to force DW into imitating LJ's blue site scheme?

HAHAHA, good.

I FIGURED IT OUT after I noticed my navigation would. . . FLASH BACK INTO THAT COLOUR. That isn't. . . normal.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to try to do. SINCE I WANT TO HAVE MY CAKE AND EAT IT TOO.

But, no problem, dude. Happy to help!
