Header issues

I'm currently using a layout with a custom header. I would like my journal title and subtitle to not show up, but if I change the code in the CSS to "display: none", the entire header disappears. If I delete the titles in the Customize Style section, the header itself also disappears. Is there any way to keep my header image, but have the titles removed?

Use the:

#title, subtitle {
display: none;
}

that twincy suggested, and then change the bit in your CSS which is:

#header {
height: 1263;
}

to:

#header {
height: 1263px;
}


That should do it!

I tried it and it does remove the titles, but adding "px" to the header makes it incredibly big/wide...

It should probably match the actual height of the header image (1263 px does seem big, but I assumed that that's how big the header really is *G*having some internet issues, so can't load stuff easily today to check)

The header is indeed 1263 px wide, but if I add the "px", there's a huge black block with my header image somewhere in the middle; for some odd reason it massively increases the height of the header section.

Oh! The code sets the height not the width.

You'll need to set:

width: 1263px;
height: SOMETHINGpx;

(Note, no space in between the number and the px)

That's because right now, it stretches as far as the title + subtitle. If you remove those, the header will disappear because there's a typo in the height measurement, as afuna pointed out.

Near as I can figure your header is 201px high, so try changing the height measurement accordingly:

#header {
height: 201px;
}
