read?skip=10 on a Transmogrified layout

I posted about this a while back, but the problem is persistent.

I thought the reason for me not seeing any entries on my reading page when I clicked on "Previous" was because I didn't follow many journals/communities. I do now, but I still can't get past ?skip=10, and there's still a duplicate "Next" link when I manually change 10 to 20. I haven't used my account a lot, but I was planning to soon. I just went through the custom css and all the theme options, but can't for the life of me figure out what the problem is. I would really appreciate some help with this.

I can go to skip=10 and, after that, skip=20 on your reading page just fine. Have you tried clearing you browser cache? Could be the problem...

Yes, i too was able to go back.

That is so strange, because for me there's nothing to see after hitting skip=30. I was going back to catch up on all the things I missed while I was absent, but from my end it looks like there's been almost no activity. I can go to skip=200 when I try the same thing on my friends' reading pages.

Well, the last entry for me is on your skip=20 page and that's from February 23rd. So that's 14 days back, as far as the reading page goes.

Are you talking about my recent entries page or my reading page? Because it's the reading page I'm having problems with. Let me do a screen cap to show you what I mean.

The reading page only shows entries made in the last 14 days (or a maximum of 1,000 entries), which is consistent with the fact that the last post I can see is on the skip=20 page and is from February 23. I suppose your skip=30 page is just empty and hence showing up a bit strangely.

(Whether that should be the case, though, is a different issue, which I will leave to actual Styles people. Maybe there should be a "you can't go back this far" message)

I just went to the first post I made about this and I can't believe I missed that I'd already been told there's a 14-day limit. :headdesk: I'm usually a more careful reader.

But yes, a "you can't go back this far" message would really help because with the amount of work I have now, I bet you I'll be back two months from now asking, But why can't I go back... Is that doable? At the very least I'd like to find out how to remove the double "next" link.

Yes, on two different computers and all major browsers. Still there's no content on my reading page as soon as I hit ?skip=30, and the double Next link is still there.

Hmm, did you set up a Default/default view filter? If so, check that all your communities/journals are on the default view, if so.

No, I didn't. I didn't even know the filter existed before you mentioned it, I'm still exploring Dreamwidth. Should I? And where could I find instructions on it?

Nope; it's only if you need/want to split up your reading list (which seems the opposite of your current problem). If it had existed, though, it might have been one reason why we can go back with no problems, while you're still having trouble.
