profile: table problem

I'm terribly sorry, this is probably the wrong place to ask for help, but I'm doing it here anyway because I couldn't find the right place.

The table I have in my bio doesn't display the way it should and I just can't figure out what the problem is. Is this even fixable?
ETA: To be more specific, the cell widths & heights aren't right, although they're in the table code and cellpadding is set to 0.

Unfortunately, Dreamwidth's site skin CSS really screws with tables. They just don't work right. You'd probably have to redo the entire code with divs.

I can't, at least not with the look I want. Divs require inline styling, but that works even less than tables.
Oh well, I'll just rework the look of my profile.

DW restricts some CSS on profile pages. ( https://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=228 ) So, as a result, coded tables and things like that in profiles often look very strange.

I would suggest that if you really want a pretty profile bio, you could make a public sticky entry in your journal( http://www.dreamwidth.org/support/faqbrowse?faqid=199 ) and post the code there. You can put much fancier code in an entry than you can in your profile.

(And this isn't the wrong place to ask for help. It's totally the right place.)

Yeah, I read that, but I was hoping someone had figured out a way around it.

I'd prefer my bio to be on the profile, so I guess it's best if I just simplify that layout a bit.

I imported a profile layout from livejournal (before I put your XF profile on) from refuted. It works fine on DW. You might take a look at the css and get some idea of how to fix yours. I use the one called rainbow: http://refuted.livejournal.com/15911.html

That's made width tables too. I suspect I shouldn't make layouts with pictures.

Btw, how did you get that LJ-comm name to display with the userhead in front?

It's a DW thing. It works for LJ, Tumblr, AO3, and probably other places, too: [user name=the_right_stuff site=the_right_place.com], substituting <> for [].
