[personal profile] isobelle posting in [community profile] style_system
i recently purchased a paid account for a different journal and noticed that a 'network' link was added to that journal's header menu. i've looked up and down, googled, checked every tab on the Customize page but i can't seem to find how to remove just the network link...! i'm using smooth sailing imported from LJ via [community profile] starlit's tutorial here. is this something that can be done? i don't mind it being there, but i don't really have a use for it on the layout.

also! having ported the layer from LJ, a lot of its functions are LJ-specific. for example: on LJ, all icons displayed will link to the respective user's icon page. the link for user icons looks like this:

which wouldn't work on DW, as icon pages here are structured as http://USER.dreamwidth.org/icons/. i tried, uh, merely changing things around and using but this doesn't work; it gives me a compiling error. any help would be so very appreciated at this point!

Use your browser's Inspect Element or similar feature to see what the CSS class for the Network link is called, and then go into the Custom CSS tab under Customization and put in something like

.network { display: none !important; }

Someone may need to double-check the syntax and specific element, here.

I don't know a whole lot about S2, but it is possible that your compiling error is because there are other LJ-specific things that are messing with it? Maybe.
