Hello all,

Just a quick question about the tags module -- I prefer to display my tags as a list, but I don't like that it shows the number of uses. Is there a way to get rid of that through CSS? I'm using Compartmentalize.

Thanks in advance.

They don't have their own class so I think you can only hide them using visibility but the space where they should be will still be there and it'll look weird.

We do have an option letting you display the number as a tooltip though (module_tags_opts_count_type) but you can only use it in layers as it's not exposed in the customize interface. Might be worth suggesting it should be. Or add a CSS class for uses.

I usually color the unwanted text in the affected area the same color as the page background then set a specific color on tag text and tag links to hide the unwanted text but force the desired text to still be visible. Your mileage may vary.

That's another way of doing it, sure, but isn't that going to have the same side effect? I.e. odd blank space where the text is because you didn't really remove it?

Not if the missing text falls inline at the end of the line in question, I guess (I don't know for sure because I haven't done anything like that in a while, but there are live and still-working examples of me doing exactly that in my CSS).

But user in question's tag counts do wrap long lines, so you're right (my own tag counts - which I was looking at when I replied - don't wrap, maybe because the font size I use in sidebar is in fact quite small; whoops).

Very glad that it worked for you. I'm trying to get a Suggestions list together (when I hit DW Suggestions I like to make as many suggestions at once as possible); fixing this is def on that list of things to ask for. :)

Also, yes. Moving it from custom layer access only to customize interface/adding a CSS class would be awesome! Bookmarking this page to make that my next Suggestion if you don't get to it first. :)

Don't know if that's for me or the OP but if it's the former please go ahead! :)
