Interesting that most of the examples given are standard link hover effects spiced up with CSS3. If you look at each one carefully, you'll notice its particular basic action is already possible with CSS2; the difference is how its effects now appear animated by use of the transform and transition properties.

Definitely bookmarking for all the ideas the page offers.
