Smooth sailing entry subject line issues

I am having two issues with this layout (here is the layer).

First, I would like to make the entry subject lines permalinks and no amount of googling has lead me to a fix on this for Smooth Sailing, though I have found one for Flexible Squares.

Second, the font of the subject line is supposed to be larger in that layout, but for some reason, it's not displaying properly in the layout.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

Huh, I'm a little confused myself at this point--Smooth Sailing over on LJ does have linked subjects, hrm...

It does! I used this tutorial to do the importing. Perhaps the base code is out of date? I know that the linked subjects is a relatively new feature for Smooth Sailing.

Hmm. I'm getting a LOT more compiling errors doing that. There's some stuff I'm comfortable getting rid of (things I can tell are LJ-specific like anything to do with games), but other stuff is pretty clearly necessary for the layout to function.

On reading that post more thoroughly, I realize that's not an appropriate place to ask this specific question. I did know to find/replace friends with read, so that's taken care of.
