Importing Dreamwidth layouts to LiveJournal?

Is it possible to import layouts from Dreamwidth to LiveJournal? I still use LJ for some stuff, but the layouts are just too hard for me to see. I've imported an LJ layout to DW before so I kinda know how it works, but I was wondering if it would even work.

Also, how do I find out which layouts are available to import? Do I contact the person who made it, or do is this information on the site somewhere and I just keep overlooking it?

Any info would be appreciated. :) Thanks!

So, basically, you can probably cut a DW style up until you can use it on LJ. But it won't be obvious or trivial, I think--we've made changes to the core that LJ hasn't.

All of the open source themes (and the layouts that are open source too), which is most of them, are here:

http://styles.memewidth.org/themes/?layoutfilter=dw-free&themefilter=dw-free

And, well, to be honest people on DW import non-free layouts from LJ a bunch, so turn about is fair play in my opinion.

Alternatively, do you want to describe what you're looking for in an LJ layout? Maybe there is a good alternative there already.

My advice is to use Smooth Sailing. Then go here and change the font sizes to ones that work for you:

You are not silly! It's not easy to sort through the LJ layouts if you don't already know them, or know which ones work best with scaling fonts up. I'm fond of Smooth Sailing (simple, works well with different font sizes, etc), so I could guess it would probably work okay with what you need. And if you like a particular color theme on DW, you can use those colors on a Smooth Sailing layout, too!
